Riyadh Geotechnique and Foundation (RGF) is a specialist engineering and contracting company established under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. RGF management endeavors to provide its valued clients with professional services of the highest quality in consideration to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Standard, Regulatory/ Statutory requirements and other adopted International Standards.

RGF possesses quality expertise reflected in its management and staff of over 300 specialized engineers and technicians who have worked for over three decades on developmental projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East. Armed with such expertise, RGF grew as a specialist contractor in drilling and in-situ testing services. These services presently include such specialized work as subsurface exploration including In-situ Seismic testing, Pressure-meter Testing and materials testing including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT); and Cathodic Protection.

Our Services

Soil Investigations

RGF has achieved an enviable reputation as the leading
sub-surface drilling and testing company. RGF operates more
than 30 fully equipped rigs, wireline drilling equipment,
wagon drills for rock probing and a fleet of all-terrain vehicles
and swamp buggies for mobility in difficult access sites.

Our services in the drilling field include:

  • On-shore drilling for site investigation for roads and bridges, housing structures, multi-storey buildings and towers and petrochemical complexes and refineries.
  • Off-shore drilling for site investigation for oil platforms and mooring systems.

INSTRUMENTATION

RGF has developed sophisticated expertise in instrumentation techniques for the purpose of monitoring ground and structural movements.

Material Testing

RGF provides a comprehensive range of testing and inspection services to the construction industry. These services include materials testing of soils, concrete and asphalt, quality control, specification preparation, and concrete and asphalt mix designs. We also provide inspection services, materials management services and services for research and development of natural resources.

RGF owns and operates fully equipped materials laboratories in Riyadh, Al-Khobar, Jeddah, Jubail, Abha, Khafji, Jizan, Bureida, Hofuf and Yanbu. Tests carried out in these laboratories include routine as well as specialized and non-destructive tests (NDT) for most structural elements.

Chemical Testing

RGF operates fully equipped chemical testing laboratories for
testing of construction materials, agricultural soils and water.
Our chemical testing facilities in Riyadh and Al-Khobar have
been enhanced to cover the testing requirements for the
industrial sector and for environmental studies including
analysis of heavy metals and total hydrocarbons.

Corrosion &
Non-Destructive Testing

In order to provide world-class services to customers in the fields of cathodic protection and corrosion engineering, RGF has associated with Cathodic Protection International (CPI) a leading manufacturer of DC power supply equipment and provider of cathodic protection engineering services.

RGF´s scope of services includes the provision of cathodic protection systems to all types of reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structures, such as pipelines, tanks, jetties, and piles. Our expertise covers both impressed current cathodic protection systems as well as sacrificial anode systems.

Our experienced staff provides the full range of services that includes field surveys and feasibility studies of CP systems, detailed designs, design evaluation, materials procurement, installation and supervision, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of installed systems.

Other services provided by RGF include the installation and commissioning of shallow and deep anodes.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING SERVICES

The consistent need for controlled quality control systems in emerging industries has resulted in an increased demand for the application of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques in every discipline of engineering.

To cope with that demand, RGF has evolved into one of the leading companies providing NDT services, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment operated by an experienced and versatile staff.

RGF has been providing services to a variety of sectors including; construction, power, defense, oil and gas, water supply and drainage, and rural and urban infrastructures.

Survey

The survey division specializes in the acquisition of geospatial data that assists in the planning and design of infrastructural and building works. These services include:

  • Topographic Survey
  • Cadastral Survey

The survey division has assisted engineers who are designing the following infrastructure works:

  • Cross kingdom railway lines
  • Power transmission lines
  • Crude and downstream process pipelines

The survey division further manages survey manpower contracts, providing land surveyors, draftsmen, hydrographic surveyors for government clients who are developing projects or operating facilities.

Geomatics (Surveying, GIS and Remote Sensing)

The Geomatics division of RGF provides complete surveying and mapping services, GIS development and remote sensing as well as photogrammetery and cartography services. This division provides services in the following disciplines.

Land Surveying

Our experience includes projects comprising surveying for land development for townships, industrial estates & agricultural farms, as well as route surveys for highways, watercourses, pipelines & power transmission lines, cadastral & landuse surveys for urban settlements, boundary & property surveys, control & construction surveys and surveys for projects requiring data collection for GIS. RGF survey crews consist of qualified and experienced personnel with special training and experience of working in difficult conditions such as sabkha, swamps, desert areas and rocky terrain.

RGF has a full range of surveying equipment including RTK Dual Frequency GPS, Total Stations and digital levels., Microstation and other software packages.

GIS & Remote Sensing

RGF offers a wide range of information management services including image processing, GIS and map production activities. Our services include data procurement, data capture, analysis and mapping of all forms of spatial data. The Company’s capability also includes consultancy in the provision of both remote sensing and GIS hardware and software. This covers the initial analysis of user requirements, procurement, the provision of experienced specialist staff for installation and subsequent on-site training of local staff, and development of user interfaces.

We are skilled in designing systems, the procurement of hardware and software and the tailoring of software to suit particular applications. For GIS applications, we have expertise in handling both natural resources data and topographic data as well as socio-economic data, including population data, medical data and social survey data.

RGF has an experienced team of professionals capable of handling GIS/RS projects. Our GIS and remote sensing team members have a wide range of experience in GIS and remote sensing projects and worked on different projects. GIS/RS team gives us considerable advantages with regard to developing data capture specifications, methods and quality control procedures. Our staff is capable of handling datasets from a wide range of sources and in widely varying formats. Various sources of data, including ground data, remotely sensed data and information derived from existing maps are routinely combined within a computer-based information system for analysis, enabling the integration and analysis of a wide variety of spatial data.

Hydrographic
& Marine Operations

The marine division specializes in offshore investigation that assists in the planning and design of coastal engineering works.These services include:

  • Geotechnical Investigation
  • Bathymetric and Hydrographic Surveys
  • Met-Ocean Studies

The marine division has undertaken coastal projects along the whole of the western coast of the Arabian Gulf, the eastern coast of the Red Sea, and the Lebanese coast. Special projects have been undertaken in other locations such as Port Said in Egypt.

The marine division has assisted engineers who are designing the following coastal works:

  • Nearshore oil platforms and freestanding conductors
  • Crude oil and utility subsea pipelines
  • Dredging and filling operations
  • A range of structures on fill material from port facilities, petroleum tanks, and waterfront residential buildings
  • Intake / outfall structures and associated power & desalination facilities
  • Silation studies and removal monitoring
  • Plume modeling and recirculation studies

RGF has a full range of hydrographic survey equipment including DGPS, Side Scan Sonar, Echosounders, Bottom profilers and on board navigational and processing software as well as post processing software for production of charts.
